Softly Enter

Softly Enter

Let the evensong sink in the ascetic grey of the indifferent sky
Let the soft notes merge and melt away.
I want the silence to cast a veil
Upon whatever is awake,
For it’s the time for homecoming.
Softly enter.
I am awake.
After ages of silence
I have found this light.
And now it is rows upon rows of stars of light.
Let the sky remain as it is for a while
With the passing light of the day, I do not mind how long the grey is going to stay,
For soon enough I am going to spray
A wild shower of colors, all gay and joyous
And full of delight.
Enter softly,
I am awake.
The dew of the early hours of the dawn
Are gathered in my basket and they will not dry.
The light in my eyes is the light of God.
And his love has found its shrine in my heart.
Softly enter,
I am awake.
