A White Rose Of A Dark Night

White rose, low key,
in a darkness blooms,
petals held tight,
brittle?
no, not brittle!
Fragile?
No, time watches it and looks away
as if it doesn't exist.
Precarious,
very precarious its stance,
in love with its being,
vocal, articulate,
unnatural sheen,
a vanishing pink,
taking on the darkness,
giving it back to the stealthy light,
doing what it is born to do,
hold on tight
to the perfumed night,
affirming that it is there to feel
the blindness of the dark and blending it with light,
step by step
delicately
.
