In the slow winter the dandelion
turns on the wilting stem.
It moves its sleepy head to find the truant sun.
And the wind too, follows in quick steps
secretly following each of the solitary
flower's moves.
The winter has blown the cover
in conspiracy with the wind.
The desperate flower seeks
somewhere to hide
and rest its sleepy head.
Oh the cruelties of the winter
are harsher far than the summer's winds and the storms of dust
