The donkey is the only hope
for a boy who crosses
vast stretches of desert- sand.
Food or water, rest or sleep,
all is to be had in equal share
between the donkey and the boy.
And sometimes in the harsh times
the boy goes without food and sleep
but keeps the donkey safe and sound.
